Digital Shift

BT announced in 2017 that they would be moving their analogue telephone lines to a faster digital system, which means that after 2025 you will no longer have an option to plug your landline into a socket on the wall but it will instead be plugged into a Wi-Fi router.

This change affects everyone with an existing phone line including Lifeline customers and the transition to the new digital system is planned to be completed by 2025. Please do not worry about this change as your telephone provider will contact you when work is to begin in your area.
